If Africa can Rise....(Pt. 2)

By Lucius Gantt

I’ve often said if African Americans want to go forward, we must go back.

I’m not saying we should get on a slave ship and go back to Africa. I’m saying we must have a relationship with people of African descent all over the world.

African leaders and African people are rising. After centuries of being oppressed, exploited and colonized, Africans are realizing that Africa is the most powerful continent in the world.

Africa has the land, the resources, the minerals and the desire to reclaim African pride and prosperity.

It is always the youth in any country that fights the early battles for recognition, respect, dignity, equal rights and equal opportunities.

Africa is rising because younger Africans are risking their lives to rid the continent of western and eastern pirates and robbers who have been stealing African gold, diamonds, shea, iron ore, cobalt, coffee, fish, platinum, rare earth minerals and more.

Many African Americans are on the internet every day, but they are not interested in African progress. African Americans are on the internet to watch booty pictures, cat fights, comedian beefs, white supremacist news feeds, and negative posts about Black men and women.

If we had Black leaders in America who understand our future is with African unity and not with the love of people that hate us and want us out of America.

What do we have that can help our brothers and sisters in Africa? We have knowledge. We know the oppressors and exploiters. We know the ways evil people have tricked and rapped people of African descent all over the world.

We can share our educational wisdom and our street smarts with our family in the Motherland.

For instance, we can work with the African nations that want our help to create jobs and opportunities for Africans and people of African descent anywhere in the world.

Every continent has Black people who have money. The wealthiest Blacks are in Africa (like Dangote) but Blacks in the US can generate billions of dollars for African and African American projects and never have to take one cent out of their bank accounts.

African/African American projects can provide jobs, housing, education, health care, etc. for Black people worldwide.

Problem is, Africans can recognize and support real leaders and African Americans cannot!

I say, let’s talk about it. I’m not afraid to sit down with Black leaders and they shouldn’t be afraid to talk to me and other unknown, or less known, servant soldiers.

If we unite and work together, the Biblical words will finally be received, “The first will become the last, and the last will become first!

When I lived in Nigeria in the early 1990’s I often thought of Africa as a great bread basket that had a large hole of which many valuable loaves that fell out. Those loaves were us! We need to return in spirit, with knowledge and skill. Our efforts and lives lost here in Western countries has been great. We must stop that brain and blood drain and turn to rebuilding Africa.
