                                                By Lucius Gantt,

One strategy used by Republican candidates to win elections is to suggest to voters that Blacks, Hispanics, and

all other people of color are out to replace them in government offices and positions.

What a strategy! If you’re weak, docile, afraid, and politically unwise, you should be concerned that

population-wise, America is surely approaching majority minority status.

But unlike President Donald Trump and other MAGA conservatives, law-abiding United States citizens have nothing

to fear. There is no plot to get rid of American white people.

I, however, believe Black citizens are considered the worse kind of Americans. In the minds of many US citizens, the

next thing worse than being enslaved is to be considered the offspring or descendants of slaves.

Now, nobody is looking for an eastbound slave vessel; what is happening to brothers and sisters; is their culture, their spirit, their faiths, their communications, their habits, and so forth are being diminished.

What conservatives say to Black Americans is, live, but live the way we tell you to live, work, but only work in the jobs we tell you to work in, laugh but only laugh at the jokes and comedians we want you to laugh at.

It’s no secret why “poverty pimps” get paid on MLK Day, Juneteenth, Black History Month events, and Black college and university commencements. The people who are acceptable to oppressors and exploiters, are the speakers Black groups are encouraged to pay for a 15 or 20-minute message.

Black people love to sing and dance; we love to harmonize. Even our church songs and music has a “beat” to it.

We won’t be loaded up on hayrides and transported to cruise terminals or airports and sent away to foreign lands as a racial group. Our mentality, our survival skills, our courage to fight the powers that be are the things that we’re always

told we never had and never will have.

Cowgirl Carter isn’t going anywhere, LeBron may change teams one day, but pale Americans love to see him play basketball. Don’t act like you’ve never heard of “Fiddler”, from the Roots Series of slave stories.

We are all Fiddlers in our own way. We are happiest when we make others happy.

Don’t despair. We can progress without political assistance, we can generate revenue, we can build homes, schools and other institutions. We can even build hospitals and clinics.

We’ve been redlined, gerrymandered, profiled, over-charged, over-sentenced, denied, delayed, discriminated against, poisoned, beaten, whipped, and recently, hung, by our necks, on city trees.

Some of us are needed, but few of us are wanted.

It appears that our bodies remain in America, but our minds are somewhat lost.

Maybe, only the activists, the radicals, and the revolutionaries feel it. We are not jungle bunnies, wannabees, or belly warmers. Intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom are not determined by the color of your skin.

Believe in yourself. African Americans can rise just like many Black Africans have risen.

God constantly sends us soldiers, messengers, prophets, and others who can deliver us but we have to recognize them, respect them, and help them!

  Black replacement is truly undesirable!
